Dakota Fanning says she’s “lucky” because she’s been able to have a normal teenage school experience on top of being a movie star.

Many teen celebrities either leave school early or find themselves home-schooled, but 16-year-old Fanning is grateful she got the real education experience, and even got to attend own prom.

“[I went with] a group of friends,” Dakota told People. “I think you put more effort into getting ready before than actually you spend at the place. But it was so much fun.”

Fanning also claimed her classmates treated her no differently than anyone else, and added she was sad her time at school was coming to an end.

“I’ve been able to have a really great experience and it’s almost over,” she added. “I can’t believe it!”
