Megan Fox may be beautiful, but her hands aren’t – bosses had to bring on a hand double for close up shots in her new ad.

During Fox’s new commercial for Motorola, there were several close up shots of her hand holding the phone. But those aren’t Megan’s hands you’re seeing – it turns out she has a genetic default that gives her ‘clubbed thumbs’.

Last year a leading surgeon commented on Fox’s condition (known as brachydactyly) and insists it’s nothing but a cosmetic problem for the Jennifer’s Body star.

“Literally, what it means is short finger. The nail of the thumb in this condition is often very short and wide. It is usually hereditary,” explained Dr. Steven Bendner.

“You need it to be able to touch the other fingers and it is important for pinching. In Megan Fox’s case, it appears that only the last bone of the thumb is affected and that it does not involve the joint. For her, it looks like it’s just a cosmetic deficit.”
