Nicole Richie admits she had no idea who Cheryl Cole was when she saw her win Woman of The Year at this weeks Glamour Awards.

The reality star won Entrepreneur of the Year at the event held in London, and says when she heard the Girls Aloud Geordie speak – she thought she was Irish.

“It felt pretty good [to win] and I was so pleased,” Richie told Vogue.

“But I had no idea who that Cheryl girl was. I heard her accent and thought she must be Irish.

“She’s not big in the US,” she added.
